CAMERYN BAUM // Community Outreach Coordinator
Cameryn Baum graduated Summa Cum Laude from Arizona State University (ASU) in May 2020 with her Bachelor’s degree in Music Performance on cello, and earned the Moeur Award from the ASU Alumni Association for graduating with a 4.00 GPA.
While she spent most of her time at ASU studying music, she also enjoyed classes focusing on social behavior and arts administration. One class she enjoyed in particular was Leadership in the Creative and Cultural Industries led by Cindy Ornstein, the Executive Director of the Mesa Arts Center, which gave her the knowledge of how to be a successful arts leader. Cameryn later applied to an arts leader position at the Mesa Arts Center and was hired to work as an administrative assistant under the direction of Mandy Tripoli.
Nowadays, Cameryn spends most of her time teaching! Having started her private studio in high school, she continues to accept new students of all ages, teaching both classical and folk music styles. She aims to become a Suzuki certified instructor and expand her knowledge in Alexander and Feldenkrais techniques.
Cameryn is also involved with an array of musical organizations in the East Valley, including the Gilbert Town Fiddlers (Community Outreach Coordinator), StringPlay (Faculty Member), and Cellobration (Teaching Assistant). When she’s not teaching or working with community organizations, Cameryn is practicing for her next performance. From an intimate engagement, to an elementary school music class, to being on stage for a Michael Bublé concert, Cameryn has nearly done it all!
With her diploma in one hand and her cello in the other, Cameryn is looking forward to becoming a more active member of her community through music.
