GTF Orientation & Retreat Waiver
The following provisions seek to describe a mutual understanding between you, the parent/guardian, and the Gilbert Town Fiddlers. This document may limit your right(s) to take certain legal actions.
I understand that during the Gilbert Town Fiddlers Orientation & Retreat, to be held respectively on July 15, 2021 and August 13-14, 2021, my child/ward (hereafter referred to as “child”) will be participating in various in-person activities and/or daily Zoom calls with Gilbert Town Fiddlers staff and students, including using video camera and microphone. Portions of the Orientation & Retreat experiences, both in-person and/or virtual, will include small group activities. In some situations, students will be participating in activities without adult supervision.
Some examples of the activities taking place during the retreat weekend will be rehearsals, personal practice, group discussions, and community-building activities.
I understand that my child’s participation is required. If I don’t want my child to be a part of any specific portion of this weekend or of any activity/outcome that is a reasonably foreseeable result of this weekend, I will inform the Gilbert Town Fiddlers of such in writing.
I certify and warrant that I presently have custody of my child and the legal right to have my child participate in this retreat.
In consideration of the attendance of my child at the retreat, I do hereby release, waive, and forever discharge the Gilbert Town Fiddlers and its officers, employees, volunteers, and agents from any and all loss, damage, claim, demand, action or right of action, of whatever kind or nature, arising from or by reason of any bodily or personal injuries known or unknown, death or property damage, and from any medical or other care delivered under cover of this document, resulting from any accident that may occur as a result of my child’s participation in the retreat, and from all other retreat-related liabilities whatsoever.
This document should be construed as broadly as possible under the law. If a provision of this release and waiver is or becomes illegal, invalid, or unenforceable in any jurisdiction, that shall not affect the validity or enforceability in that jurisdiction of any other provision, nor the validity or enforceability in other jurisdictions of that or any other provision.
